So often in the hospitality, tourism, and events industries, there's a tendency to continue to work with the same network of people. While the quality of work remains high, the infusion of fresh ideas from newly minted partners can sometimes provide the spark needed to take a project to the next level. The Summit (formerly the Hospitality & Tourism Summit) can help you find them.
"When I attend The Summit, I definitely feel energized," Jordan Engerman, Vice President of Partnerships with Choose Chicago, the city's official tourism department, tells us in the video below. "I think it's just an amazing opportunity to come together as a community, learn new ideas, catch up on the latest trends, and build lasting relationships."
On April 28, more than 1,200 hospitality, tourism and events industry professionals will come together at three dynamic West Loop venues--Recess, City Hall, and Morgan Manufacturing--for a morning of breakout sessions and roundtable discussions moderated by industry leaders, followed by a trade show featuring 100+ vendors spotlighting the best the city has to offer and the Summit Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement in 11 categories. You can purchase tickets here.
Celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2026, The Summit is attended by the people most dedicated to preserving Chicago’s reputation as a world-class city. That includes Engerman, who fully understands that The Summit is integral to his profession.
"I feel proud and fortunate to be part of this dynamic community," he adds. "I'm very appreciative of the many long-lasting relationships that I have formed through the years, and also the many collaborations that have been a result of these relationships."
