Assistant Deputy Director

Lisa Link serves as the Assistant Deputy Director of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's Office of Tourism, which drives visitation to and within Illinois to generate economic impact and enhance quality of life for residents.

During her tenure, Lisa has held several roles within the office and has contributed to a variety of initiatives, including the award-winning Mini Abe and Illinois Made programs, as well as the global promotion of Illinois as the “Middle of Everything.”

Before joining the Office, Lisa led research and promotions for the Chicago Office of Tourism and supported projects such as the popular Cows on Parade citywide public art exhibition. She was also a White House presidential advance team member, handling press and logistics for events attended by the President and/or First Lady. She began her tourism career at the University of Illinois, where she managed the National Laboratory for Tourism and eCommerce and oversaw research projects for destination clients.

Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree from Loras College and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. A lifelong Illinoisan and die-hard White Sox fan, she resides in Chicago’s suburbs with her husband, their two children, and their Mini Goldendoodle, Biscuit.
