Dr. Sanjay Boddhu serves as Instructor and Industry Advisor in the University of Chicago’s MS in Applied Data Science program, where he teaches MLOps and Applied Machine Learning Systems, and mentors Capstone teams building real-world AI solutions for enterprise and startup sponsors. His leadership has helped student teams turn Capstone projects into internships, funded prototypes, and technical assets adopted beyond the classroom. Sanjay also is the Head of AI/ML & Automation Engineering at HERE Technologies, where he leads global machine learning, computer vision, and data automation initiatives that power HD and autonomous driving maps used by major automotive and mobility platforms. His teams design and deploy large-scale AI systems that transform imagery, sensor data, and real-world telemetry into continuously updated digital map intelligence. Beyond HERE and UChicago, Sanjay provides strategic advisement to early-stage and enterprise teams on MLOps, AI platform design, and concept-to-production strategy, and leads AIIQ, an applied AI venture studio focused on accelerating productization pathways for data-driven businesses. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, is a Senior IEEE Member, and an inventor on multiple patents in machine learning, computer vision, and geospatial automation. His passion is enabling the next generation of data scientists and engineers to move beyond notebooks—to build AI that scales, ships, and delivers real-world impact.
