As spring turns into summer, it's important for tourism-related businesses to be on top of their game. For John Curran, senior vice president and general manager of Big Bus Tours Chicago, The Summit is how he gets ready for his busiest period. And he's not the only one.
"When I hear about The Summit, I immediately think of spring," he tells us. "I think of energy, I think of renewal. I think of a room full of people who are absolutely ready to get summer started."
Big Bus' coaches are omnipresent in downtown Chicago. The double-decker, open-topped buses shuttle visitors to 11 landmarks, including the Museum Campus, Willis Tower, and Navy Pier. Passes offer unlimited rides for 24, 48, or 72 hours. Along the way, pre-recorded commentary provides insight into the landmarks that are being passed and the city's history. Big Bus Chicago is sponsoring the Win-Wins for the Hotel, the Guest, and Your Business session during Education & Eggs at The Summit.
Curran adds that he feels "engaged" by The Summit's atmosphere. "There's great energy in the educational sessions, explaining what the new things that are happening in the market this year. I get great value from that. And then we move into the trade show, where I get to see all kinds of new people and old friends and make partnerships that really matter. Our business gets a big lift out of The Summit each year."
Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026, The Summit will be held on April 28 at three of the West Loop’s most dynamic venues: Recess, City Hall, and Morgan Manufacturing. You can learn about exhibiting and sponsorship opportunities here.
