The Summit Can Help You Prepare for Chicago’s Next Big Event

An Education & Eggs panel discussion at The Summit.

Major events that gather people from across the globe are big economic drivers for cities. When they happen, it's not enough to simply have enough hotel rooms. It's important to create experiences for visitors that they'll remember long after they're home, and make them want to return. One of the Education & Eggs sessions at The Summit, Route 66, the World Cup, and Global Uncertainty: What It All Means for Your Business, will show you how.

Presented by Cory Jobe of Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Board with Naomi Hattori of Choose Chicago on the panel, the discussion will show how Chicago can attract, and make the most of, these events. Using the World Cup, Route 66 Centennial--with which Jobe is involved--and others as examples, the panel will explore the mindset of the modern traveler, and you'll understand how to best market to them through innovative partnerships.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026, The Summit (aka the Hospitality & Tourism Summit) will be held on April 28 at three of the West Loop’s most dynamic venues: Recess, City Hall, and Morgan Manufacturing. Route 66, the World Cup, and Global Uncertainty will take place at Recess from 11:20-11:45 AM. You can purchase tickets and register for Route 66, the World Cup, and Global Uncertainty here

A combination of a networking breakfast and panel discussions related to the tourism, hospitality, and events industries, Education & Eggs, which includes a free breakfast, is sponsored by Yolk, your Chicago neighborhood brunch spot since 2006.
